What moves the price
Private or shared. A private boat is priced per boat, so the cost per person falls fast as the group grows: two people pay for the whole crew, five people split it. Shared trips put strangers on one boat and price per person.
Boat class. Basic boats have mattresses on deck and a simple bathroom. Better boats add a cleaner bathroom, more space, better mattresses and nets, and sometimes a separate cabin. Ask for photos of the bathroom and the deck at night before paying more.
What is included. A fair quote includes boat, crew, licensed guide, all meals, drinking water, park fees and the transfer from the airport to Kumai. Missing park fees alone can add more than USD 45 per person on a 3-day trip.
Season. July, August and late December fill up first and prices hold firm. In quieter months it is reasonable to ask for a better boat at the same price.

For two people it can cost double a shared trip; for four or more it is often close to the shared price per person and gives you control over the schedule.
